PS3 XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) v0.10 Homebrew App Arrives

Following up on the previous updates, this weekend bitsbubba has released PS3 XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) v0.10 for PlayStation 3 homebrew fans.

XMB Manager Plus v0.10

XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) is a new XMB category based off of REBUG’s Package Manager, which is a modded version of the official (debug/Jailbreak)

"Install Package Files" XMB option.

This will replace the "Install Package Files" option or for REBUG CFW "Package Manager".

XMB Manager Plus allows the entire PS3 filesystem to be browsed and/or deleted (all file types supported), We have added functions to REBUG's "Package Manager" and renamed it to Package Manager Plus, it consists of all previous features plus it now includes new "Homebrew Downloader" category that has options to download a selection of popular PS3 homebrew packages.

We have also added a new "Game Data Manager" that contains all games data type tools, like saves, backups, etc. There are plenty more options also available in this new update, see the changelog below.

Main Features in XMBM+ v0.10

Package Manager Plus

Allows homebrew/packages to be easily downloaded, installed and deleted.

File Manager Plus

Browse and Delete files from all locations such as hdd, usb, etc.

Game Data Manager

Includes all the game data tools from main XMB plus some more additions. Things like Game data, Save data, Backups and trophys are contained here.

Multi-Media Manager

Browse, Copy, Rename and Play all your PS3's internal hdds media from one location. All options from the normal XMB categories are available in
one new combined category.

XMBM+ v0.10 Release Notes

Tested so far on REBUG 3.55.2, OFW 3.55, Cobra CFW (requires additional dev_flash file), KMEAW 3.55, True Blue CFW, Hermes 3.41, etc. ps3hen has also ported XMBM+ to his 4.00HFW.

Install Instructions

1 - Copy the XMB_Manager_Plus_v0.10_flash.pkg and XMB_Manager_Plus_v0.10.pkg files to the root of your USB media.
2 - Install XMB_Manager_Plus_v0.10.pkg file and XMB_Manager_Plus_v0.10_flash.pkg file.
3 - Run the XMB Manager Plus installer (you can delete it afterwards).
4 - Enjoy!

NOTE: Follow the correct order or your "Install Package Files" (or "Package Manager") option will disappear and you'll have to reinstall dev_flash files or firmware.

Uninstall Instructions

1 - Download Rebug Package Manager pkg
2 - Install Rebug Package Manager pkg file
3 - Run the Rebug Package Manager installer (you can delete it afterwards)
4 - Delete XMB Manager Plus in the XMB "Game Data" category

NOTE: Follow the correct order or your "Install Package Files" (or "Package Manager") option will not appear and you'll have to reinstall dev_flash files or firmware.

Update Instructions

Just use the option "Update" in "About" section and then install the package.

Beatbox by beats by dr. dre and Monster

Monster, one of the biggest names in audio, has just teamed up with Nick Cannon to produce the NCredible line of Beats By Dre Diddybeats, featuring the NTune On-Ears. While Monster’s not trying to compete with themselves per se, the Monster NTunes are pretty much in direct competition with Dr. Dre’s Solo Beats. The Monster NTunes feature a comfortable fit, trendy and unique styling, removable headphone cable with ControlTalk, and audio quality you can feel.Simpsons Arcades is by far the best thing on this update. I remember spending countless hours playing it at my local arcade. I bought it on xbox, plus im getting it on the ps3 from ps+ (finally getting things i enjoy from this program, hope its not the last)

Beatbox by beats by dr. dre and Monster is just another example of how seriously these companies are about improving the experience of listening to music. They have thought about all the important details while creating their first iPod dock – it sounds good, produces audio that fills a room, and they made sure that it looks good no matter where you put it. However the price is indeed a bit high for such a device, still, loyal beats by dr. dre and Monster fans will probably pony up the money anyway. For the price though, I think they should have included a mini to mini stereo cable for the 3.5 mini jack input and the grille is a bit on the chintzy side as it easily bends in when you push against it.

That Justin Bieber, he is just everywhere these days and now he has influenced a new pair of headphones from Beats by Dr. Dre and Monster called Justbeats. Yes, first Beats by Dr. Dre got Lady Gaga involved, then Diddy, and now the Biebs – he is the obvious choice for capturing the tween’ crowd. Apparently little Justin loves the color purple lots and Beats by Dr. Dre and Monster are happy to oblige with not one, but two pairs of headphones in the color purple. There will be On-Ear and In-Ear versions of JustBeats by Dr. Dre and each will retail for $199.95 and $119.95 respectively. Fr0m the looks of it – it’s the Solo HD and the new iBeats that will be getting the new purple flavor. I can hear the squealing already.

Can you give a suggestion to Team Ninja to release Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on the Vita as well. I’m going to be picking up the WiFi model and seeing all of the awesome titles that are launching with the system, I can guarantee you that I will be in for the long haul. I already want NGSP, Uncharted, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and WipEout 2048. I’m also looking forward to the next Killzone game that is currently in development for the Vita as well. With all of the power under the hood of this system, please tell me t if they are making Skyrim or Kingdoms of Amalur for the VIta. That would make my day :-)

Following up on the previous update, this weekend PlayStation 3 homebrew development group DexL0ve have made available a PS3 patched DEX LV2_Kernel.Self for CEX consoles.

Essentially this PKG release is a patched LV2 DEX (Debug / Test) kernel for CEX (Retail) PS3 consoles based on the recent LV2 Loader release.

To quote: From my limited understanding of PS3 coding and reading the NFO file, that by using the LV2_Loader released by Team Rebug earlier, and by QA flag'ing your CEX machine, this file is basically a patched LV2 DEX kernel that will load fully on your CEX machine and thereby give you some DEX (aka) TEST machine L0VE on your Jailbroken PS3 Console.

MAPS3LV2_Load & multiMAN 4.0 on JFW-DH CFW 3.56 MA

This weekend some videos were posted by Kike and DemonHades demonstrating MAPS3LV2_Load alongside multiMAN 4.0 on JFW-DH CFW 3.56 MA.

To quote, roughly translated: Hello demons, as we all know after the departure of JFW-DH 3.56 some users have experienced an error.

For example: black screenshots consoles backwards compatible with PS2 games, movie reproduction in BD, mini games... This is why a patch of MA LV2 gives some kind of conflict... So the mini games do not work etc.

Well that was till today, after a large study by blackdeath I come to show how we solved these problems little by little in the next video will MAps3lv2_load, basically what we can do is load a new LV2 in ram as the mini games are no longer a problem.



UPDATED: Well I can say that the problem of the failure of some movie is playing by the lv2 stripe! I have all working all my movies from the ofw lv2. I will continue with detail. Uninformed of saludo. Kike

Nokia’s current flagship phones are certainly headed that way

Maxell’s RetroDJ headphones are surprisingly stylish for their low price, with matt-finish cups and retro-styled sliding metal rails to adjust the size of the headband. This headset is amazing once i found out what it really did i was so surprised. Just the fact of having no wires was cool but being able to connect with my droid 3 is the greatest thing ever. i can call people and listen/ stream music wirelessly to my headset and it has crystal clear sound and great bass. This headset is truely a must have a will and almost have recommended to all my freinds. It is also a great thing to brag about when/while playing multiplayer on battlefield 3 or call of duty mw3.
