Wasabi 360 Ultra user guide and installation manual for Xbox 360 Slim consoles
Introduction
To install your Wasabi X360S Ultra you will have to disassemble your Xbox Slim. We recommend youfollow one of the many Xbox Slim Disassembly guides online. Now, disassemble your Xbox Slim until you get to the point that it looks like Figure 1, below:
1. Wasabi PCB and housing
2. Grey (or Yellow) SATA cable
3. Red SATA Cable
4. Wasabi Power Cable
1. Disconnect the SATA and power cables from the disc drive and remove the drive from your Xbox
2. Remove the HDD tray by removing the 3 screws shown in figures 3‐5 below
3. Remove the Drive SATA and power cable from your Xbox Slim
4. Insert Wasabi power cable as shown (note the orientation ‐ DO NOT ever plug the power cable in with incorrect orientation) Figure
5. Reinsert drive tray and drive tray screws
6. You may leave the drive tray screw in Figure 8 out until the drive is in place. This will give the drive tray more play, making threading of SATA cables easier later on.
Getting your Cables out of the Xbox
To do this you will need make a cut out in the metal vent as shown in Figure 9 below. You may use wire or tin snips for this purpose.
7. You may use a marker to guide you in this process as we have done in Figure 11.
8. Let the clipping begin
9. We recommend using electrical tape or masking tape to insulate the edges of the metal vent as the edges can be quite sharp.
10. Insert the Grey (or Yellow) SATA cable into the Xbox motherboard (if you insert the Red cable into the motherboard instead of the Grey (or Yellow) one here, your Wasabi X360S will not work!!)
11. Feed the Grey (or Yellow) SATA cable and the Wasabi power cables under the drive tray as shown in
12. Then feed the cables through the cut‐out in the metal vent
13. Insert the Red SATA cable into your Xbox Drive
14. Feed the Red SATA cable under the drive tray and out the metal vents as shown in Figures 19 and 20
15. Insert Wasabi power cable into your drive (once again, note the orientation!!)
16. Place the disc drive back into place and the tricky part is done! Now, it is time to reassemble your Xbox Slim.
17. Reassembling your Xbox Slim. You may refer to one of the Xbox Slim reassembly guides online if you need.
18. Insert SATA and power cables into Wasabi board as shown (note Red cable goes to connector labelled “Drive” and Grey (or Yellow) cable goes to connector labelled “XB”)
